How much of Gaza is left? True toll of Israel-Palestine conflict may be greater than suggested

This left a small number of paradises. Before the war, two million inhabitants, half of Gaza, lived in 365 square kilometers – a population density similar to Madrid.
However, until July 30, Israel militarized regions and displacement, the population of many of the lane where many of the tents have pushed only 12.7 percent.
It can be one of the most intensely packaged places in the world.

The collapse of medical care, sanitation and food materials caused thousands of deaths that were not directly connected to bombs or bullets.
A study conducted by Michael Spagat of Royal Holloway University of London and others estimated that he had died for indirect reasons between 4500 and 12,500 until January 5th.
The same work put the number of severe deaths to approximately 60,000 to 90,000 – more than half women, children or men over the age of 65 (see the graph).

Another study estimated that 55,000 to 79,000 ghazans died of traumatic injuries by the end of June 2024.
These independent estimates exceed the official numbers that reached 38,000 in June 2024 and 47,500 in January 2025.
Assuming that the ratio between official figures and academic estimates remains the same, four to five percent of the region’s pre -war population has been killed.
It is difficult to comprehend wider demographic wages.
Studies have shown that the estimated life expectancy has been roughly half of the pre -war figure for more than 35 years.
In a percentage, this decrease is greater than recorded during China’s major leap; Absolutely, Rwanda is similar to those who follow the genocide.
The appearance for surviving civilians is gloomy.
A few basic services are working.
Until 1 August, the UN found that 76 percent of schools were shot directly with strikes. Approximately 95 percent of hospitals were significantly damaged.

The cost of rebuilding is still unclear, but very large.

A complete calculation will only be possible when the fight ends. However, the current irregular data shows that this is among the most destructive conflicts in the recent history.
