How one Brit holidaymaker spent a day in Spain and it cost less than a night out in the UK

A British holidaymaker who traveled to Spain for just a few hours and still squeezed in sightseeing, shopping and sunbathing said it cost her less than a night in the UK.
Kelsie Stonya from Southend-On-Sea recently went on the ultimate ‘extreme day trip’; While he was making a quick escape, he was also fighting the storm.
He caught a delayed flight to Palma, Mallorca, and returned to England the same day; And all for just £143.
The 25-year-old visited the beach, enjoyed paella for one and even found herself chatting with the pilot in the cockpit after a delayed flight.
Her whirlwind day out also attracted a lot of attention online, with a TikTok video of her experience garnering 42,600 views from viewers who love the spontaneous adventure.
‘The weather was very hot, very sunny; “It was absolutely dreamlike,” he said.
‘The whole trip cost £143.08 including flights, transfers, food and everything; It was definitely cheaper than some nights I’ve had before.
‘By the end of this, I was very, very tired from all the walking and the heat.

After lunch he walked down to the beach to sunbathe, describing the weather as ‘absolutely dreamy’, then headed to the shops.
‘I would definitely do it again, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that flights don’t get delayed next time.’
He started his day at the airport and arrived to find that every flight had been delayed due to Storm Amy hitting parts of Europe.
Fortunately, his plane eventually took off.
After landing, Kelsie took the 20-minute bus to downtown Palma, where she admired the cathedral, wandered the streets, and hunted down a restaurant.
After lunch, he walked down to the beach to soak up the sun, describing the weather as ‘absolutely dreamy’, and then headed to the shops.
At the end of the day, exhausted but happy, she splurged on an Uber to get back to the airport and tested her Spanish skills with the driver.
The return leg did not go smoothly either, as the flight was delayed by two hours; But things took a turn for the better when the friendly pilot invited the passengers into the cockpit for a look.
Kelsie said she would “definitely do it again” but is hoping for gentler skies next time.

He said: ‘I had a really nice lunch and then headed off to the beach. I walked for about 20 minutes and then sat for about an hour.
‘The thought of getting back on the bus to the airport was really making me sad, so I hopped in an Uber.’
