Blick stated that Prost was only slightly injured in the attack, but remained in shock at the incident.
He has since returned to Dubai, where he lives part-time.
Prost won the F1 world championship in 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1993, and the Frenchman had a famous rivalry with Ayrton Senna.
His 51 Grand Prix victories were a long-standing record, but his total now ranks fifth all-time behind Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel.
