Philippines VP Duterte must face trial, prosecutors say

Vice President of Philippine Sara Duterte should be tried and ultimately convicted for serious charges, including the allegation of the murder of the President.

Duterte faces a life prohibition from the office for life if he is dismissed and condemned. He refused to do it wrong, and his accusation was motivated politically and his and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Lower Parliament prosecutors said that the weight of the evidence against Duterte justified a complete case and that the allegations against him were unfounded in a complaint of accusing his defense.

“The violence of the charges does not leave room for technical smuggling. A hearing is not only guaranteed, not only guaranteed, to strengthen justice, to support democratic principles, and to confirm that no individual is on the law, regardless of the rank of influence.”

“It is clear that the only legal strategy of the defense is to prevent the rejection and trial of the case from a simple reading based on misleading claims and unquestioned procedure objections.” He said.

When affected by the lower house in February, Duterte described the complaint of objection as contrary to the constitution and “nothing but a paper scrap”.

The complaint included the allegations that he abused public funds when he was the vice president and education secretary, and in November he planned to assassinate the first female and Parliament Speaker Marcos based on statements about a assassin rental.

Duterte’s accusation is widespread in the Philippines as part of a wider power struggle before the 2028 elections, when Marcos could not compete for the presidents because of a one -term border for the presidents and attempting to protect his legacy. Marcos took himself away from the objection.

Duterte, the daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, is expected to run for the presidency in 2028 if he is a strong contestant.
