At the intimate ceremony held at the Ling Bhairavi Temple, fans marveled at her crimson silk sari, heritage jewelery and stunning ring. But as new bridal photos go viral, a familiar question has resurfaced about Samantha’s wedding dress from her marriage to actor Naga Chaitanya.

Samantha’s 2017 wedding dress: A special memory

In October 2017, Samantha married Naga Chaitanya in Goa. She wore a stunning white dress designed by her close friend Kresha Bajaj. Known for its intricate embroidery and personalized details, the outfit held significant sentimental value for Samantha. However, she went through a public divorce from Chaitanya in 2021.

We transform the dress into a bold new look

Samantha surprised her fans in 2023 by completely transforming her original wedding dress. The once delicate white bridal gown has been reimagined with a black dress.

The transformed dress was first unveiled at the Elle Sustainability Awards in April 2024. Fans were quick to label it a “revenge dress” and drew parallels with Princess Diana’s famous post-divorce look.

Designer Kresha Bajaj, who first designed the dress in 2016, took on the challenge of reworking it. She kept the detailed floral and crystal embroidery on the original dress but redesigned it with a new silhouette. The fabric was dyed black, the design was modernized and sentimental motifs were thoughtfully incorporated into a revamped form.
