Blood Samples Taken From 73 Families

Kakinada:While the number of people who died due to kidney failure due to Anuria disease increased to 4 on Monday, 12 people, 5 of whom are critical, are being treated in various hospitals in two private hospitals.
Five people suffering from anuria were on ventilators. The cause of the disease is said to be contaminated milk. Children aged 3 months and 1.5 years also become victims of the disease.
All of the victims are undergoing dialysis in their own hospitals. While a woman named Tadi Krishna Veni died on Sunday, Tadi Ramani (58 brides of Krishna Veni), N Seshagiri Rao and Radha Krishna Murthy died on Monday.
Authorities announced these deaths and said that 12 people were treated in various hospitals. Authorities identified 106 families who consumed the contaminated milk, and blood samples were taken from 73 of them by medical and health officials.
The Livestock Directorate also took blood and milk samples from 46 cattle and sent them to laboratories.
Eluru Range IG, GVG Kishore Kumar and health commissioner Veera Pandian reached the district to monitor the events.
These officers, along with East Godavari collector Keerthi Chekuri, SP Narasimha Kishore, Rajamahendravaram municipal commissioner Rahul Meena and other officials, visited Narsapuram village in Korukonda mandal, where the milk trader collects milk to supply to consumers.
The collector said food control officers collected samples of dairy products and sent them to laboratories in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. He said the Prime Minister had asked the authorities to submit a comprehensive report.
He appealed to people not to panic over cases of acute kidney failure as the district administration was immediately alerted after cases were recorded in Chowdeeswari Nagar and Swaroop Nagar areas near Lalacheruvu district.
He said that people should contact the helpline number 9494060060 if they notice symptoms of the disease, and that a health bulletin will be issued by the authorities from time to time.
SP Kishore said four people have died so far, unauthorized dairies have been seized and the milk trader has been detained. According to the samples taken, children and the elderly were victims.
He urged the public to consume only boiled milk for a few days.
DMHO K Venkateswara Rao said the victims were suffering from urinal problems and vomiting. Special medical camps have been established in the affected areas. Health commissioner Veerapandian said all medical expenses of the victims would be borne by the government.
The opposition YSRC alleged that the government was deliberately hiding the number of victims and sick people in Anuria disease cases.
Senior YSRC leader Jakkampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, former MLA Jakkampudi Raja, former minister Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna and others told media in Rajamahendravaram on Monday that 21 people were admitted to various hospitals, but officials confirmed that only 4 of the 5 died.
A woman named B.Kanaka Ratnam also died of the same disease at GGH in Kakinada, but the authorities did not count her death.
Raja said that 16 of the affected people were receiving treatment in various hospitals in Rajamahendravaram, but the government announced the number as 12. He demanded that the government launch a thorough investigation into the incident and provide medical treatment to all victims.
