HS2 moves 1,631 tonne bridge into place over Birmingham ring road | News

HS2 engineers carefully shift a 1,631 ton bridge on a busy way of Birmingham.
The Timelapse images, which were shared on Thursday, August 21, show that Ring Road Lawley has been placed in the middle road for four nights.
The movement began on August 15, and the engineers lifted the bridge instead of night road closing to minimize the degradation of drivers. It was completed four days before the program.
For HS2’s Curzon approaches, Greg Sugden, the head of delivery, said: “On the approach to Birmingham Curzon Street station, a significant portion of the first steel structure-greater fast railway to be placed for a miles of viaducts begins to be shaped.”
