Aldi announced that prices would be frozen for several months. This move is expected to help millions of shoppers across the country facing cost-of-living struggles.
Aldi confirmed today (Tuesday, June 23) that it is extending its baby food price freeze until the end of 2026. The store says the ice cream can help parents save up to £5 compared to the average price elsewhere.
The UK’s biggest discount store will keep Mamia First Baby Milk priced at £6.99 for the remainder of 2026. This comes after the supermarket decided to extend its previous commitment to keep the price until summer 2026. The price of £6.99 has remained the same since June 2025.
Analysis: General store found that the pre-promotion price of 157 baby food products sold in major supermarkets increased by an average of 9.4% in the first two months of 2026. Aldi UK Commercial Director Julie Ashfield said: “Household budgets are under pressure and some baby food brands are increasing prices. That’s why we’re extending our Mamia First Baby Milk price freeze until the end of 2026.
“We know every penny counts for parents, especially in the early years, so we’re committed to keeping this essential product accessible and affordable.” UK regulations ensure that all baby food products meet the nutritional needs of babies, regardless of brand or price.
Aldi says Mamia Stage 1 First Baby Milk “suitable from birth” and “suitable for combination and bottle-fed babies”. However, it should not be stored in the refrigerator.
The announcement is Aldi’s latest attempt to support parents. Earlier this year, Mamia relaunched its New Parent Fund, offering £100 worth of Aldi vouchers every week for a year to help parents with daily essentials after welcoming a new baby.
Aldi has also been named Supermarket of the Year 2026 by the Mother and Baby Awards.
