Hugh Hewitt predicts Ocasio-Cortez 2028 presidential run after Munich speech

Democratic 2028 hopefuls took their criticism of President Donald Trump abroad this week; Names such as Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and California Governor Gavin Newsom spoke at the Munich Security Conference.
Fox News contributor and former White House deputy counsel Hugh Hewitt predicted that the high-profile turnout at the annual gathering of world leaders could be an early pick to lead the Democratic Party’s 2028 presidential race.
Hewitt predicted Ocasio-Cortez would ultimately top the Democratic rankings.
“Everybody knows he’s going to be the nominee,” Hewitt said Saturday on “Fox & Friends Weekend.”

He specifically criticized Ocasio-Cortez and Newsom’s proposals to increase taxes on the rich. Asked if she would implement a wealth tax if she runs for president, Ocasio-Cortez said it should be enacted “quickly.”
Hewitt criticized the approach as “horrible economics” and said it would undermine national security.
“It’s a fantasy land, a Candy Land style game inside their heads, with unicorns and bubbles and it doesn’t work.”

Other Democrats at the event included Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Arizona Sens. Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly.

In Germany, Ocasio-Cortez accused Trump of destabilizing relations with US allies and ushering in authoritarianism.
“I think most of us are here to say that we’re here and we’re ready for the next phase, not to return the world to isolationism, but to deepen our partnership,” Ocasio-Cortez said. he said.

“We have hundreds of thousands of American men and women in the Navy and Army who are at risk.” He said Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats are “weakening America.”
