Paragliders narrowly avoid landing in polar bear enclosure | News

A pair of paragliders nearly got a shave when they landed inches from the polar bear enclosure.

On Tuesday 16 December, staff at Peak Wildlife Park in Staffordshire confiscated non-lethal firearms after spotting two gliders crashing directly into a pen containing bears Nanook and Nori.

In the footage, it can be seen that the couple managed to change direction at the last moment and narrowly escaped the closed area, landing just to the right of the bears’ border.

“Polar bears are among the world’s most dangerous predators, and if paragliders had landed there the result would have been more tragic than funny,” said park manager James Butler.
