Six Militants Arrested in Manipur
Imphal: Police said on Sunday that six militants were arrested from different Manipur regions.
The four cadres of the forbidden People’s Liberation Army were arrested near the Myanmar border in the Tengnoupal region on Friday.
These were defined as Chabungbam Nanaocha Meethei (21), Waikhom Thoi Meitei (30), Ningthoujam Rajesh (25) and Tekchaham Nanao Singh (25).
Kangleipak, a member of the Socialist Revolution Party, was arrested on Saturday from Sangaiprou in the Imphal West region.
Police, Maisnam Abhi Singh (40), defined as the defendants were accused of forcing local businesses, he said.
He said that an active preparation (Pro) squad was arrested from Tera Urak in Bishnupur region on Friday.
Meanwhile, a large weapon and ammunition cache was taken from the security forces from Kongba Maru Hill Range in the Imphal Eastern Region.
Among the recovery items, two -double -barreled shotgun, a 9 mm pistol, a .32 pistol, a country -made pistol, two grenades and more than 100 different types of ammunition, he said.
