Hundreds of Aussies try to flee Israel-Iran conflict

Hundreds of trapped Australians are trying to escape from the conflict zone while Israel and Iranian trade strikes and call their leaders to calm down.

The rival nations began missing missiles and air for Tat on Friday after the Israeli army launched attacks to destroy Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Iran promised to “open the doors of hell ,, while Israel hit critical oil refineries.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that 350 Australian registered to leave Iran and that 300 asked for help in Israel.

The Iranian Ministry of Health reported that hundreds of people have been killed in attacks, including many civilians since Friday.

More than a dozen Israel was reported to have been killed in retaliation strikes.

Defense Minister Richard Marles said that the conflict would have a series of strokes for the economy, including the increase in gasoline prices.

“We saw this with the war in Ukraine, disrupting global supply chains and has an economic impact around the world,” he told ABC TV on Monday.

Experts warned that the threat of closing the Hormuz Strait, which is the only maritime entrance point to the Gulf of Basra, will raise oil prices.

Mr. Marles added that the Australian diplomatic personnel in Iran and Israel were announced as military personnel in the region.

As the situation remained variable, he reiterated security warnings to Australians in the Middle East.

NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said that drivers would have to pay more for gasoline as a result of the conflict, but prices should settle in the long term.

“What we see at the weekend, where one of the Iranian refineries is targeted, adds another layer of complexity.”

While importing most of the Australian oil from Asia, Mr. Khourry said that events in the Middle East have an impact on the market.

“If the oil price per the Middle East is sneezing, the rest of the world is cold,” he said.
