Hundreds of protesters gather at asylum hotel in Norwich area

Hundreds of people participated in protests against the use of a hotel to host asylum seekers

Hundreds of people met to protest a hotel residence outside of asylum seekers.

Many came to the hotel in the Norwich area with Str George’s flags, banners and posters, some of them “Stop the invasion”.

BBC journalist Alex Dunlop estimated that there were approximately 350 to 400 anti -immigrant protesters and approximately 150 protesters at the scene.

He said it was largely peaceful but noisy with a “strong police presence”.

Approximately 60 police officers were on protests

Approximately 60 police officers, some of the protesters standing on the road, listened and applauded a series of conversations delivered behind a parked truck.

Anti -immigration demonstrators were heard when we say “we want our country back” and “Stop the invasion”.

Protesters event began to gather before starting at 14:00.

The speeches ended at 15:30 and the crowd began to disintegrate.

Norfolk police said that the event was peacefully resulted in the arrest.

Glen Saffer, one of the organizers, said: “That’s what we wanted – a peaceful show.

“We are here as a community to close this place.”

He said he was not against all migrations and that protesters were not racist.

“I accept that we want 100% legal people in this country. If they want to be doctors and nurses, we welcome them.”

The 21 -year -old protester Josh Ampleford, who lives in the region, said that participation was “very good” and “impressive”.

Cindy Wilson, who lived nearby, said he had regularly participated in protests in London and came to “save our children”.

Estimated 350-400 protesters gathered outside the hotel

A police spokesman said that evidence collectors were deployed as part of the police operation and that all images would be reviewed.

Supt Wes Hornigold said: “Groups use their peaceful protest rights, especially for some short -term disruptions.

He continued: “We had a few officers in charge to ensure the safety of everyone concerned and facilitate the protest.”

Police officers were standing in front of the protesters who were on the road

On Monday, approximately 150 protesters gathered outside a hotel in Diss, Norfolk, and families looking for shelter to protest against the home office planned to host one adult men there.

Two men were arrested on Saturday morning on a protest in Diss Hotel and a protest at the hotel in Norwich.

Rival groups have clashed outside the Bell Hotel in ESSEX, ESSEX in various demonstrations since July 13th.

There, ten people were accused of crimes.

A home office spokesman said: “Since we took office, we immediately took action to correct the asylum system and began to close hotels and raise more than 35,000 people who had no right to be here.

“Even though the public has the right to protest against the current situation, we will never tolerate illegal or violent behavior.

“We have a comprehensive and well -tested unexpected situation plans to deal with any public disorder that has been strengthened since last year’s embarrassing scenes, working closely with the police.”
