Three dead, two charged in separate crashes
The other accident was when a Toyota RAV4 crashed into a tree at Aubigny, just outside Toowoomba, at around 1.30pm.

Police arrived at the scene on Oakey Pittsworth Road and saw the car driven by a 74-year-old woman had left the road.
The seriously injured woman died at the scene.
Investigations into all three crashes are ongoing and anyone with information about the fatal incident is asked to contact police.
In another incident on Saturday, a Moreton Bay man has been charged over a serious car crash in Deception Bay on Saturday night.

“At approximately 7.20pm a black Nissan Navara was traveling along Phillip Parade between Bundaberg Street and Nambour Court when it struck a pedestrian,” police said in a statement.
“The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan allegedly fled the scene in the vehicle.”
However, he later went to the police station and surrendered.
“The 21-year-old female pedestrian from Newport was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition,” police said.
A 49-year-old Clontarf man has been charged with dangerous driving and drink driving.
He will appear at Redcliffe Magistrates’ Court on February 3, 2026.
On Saturday afternoon, another man driving dangerously allegedly caused a crash on the Gold Coast. He has since been charged in connection with the incident.
At around 4.20pm police allegedly spotted a gray Peugeot driving dangerously along Dreamworld Parkway in Coomera.
While trying to stop the vehicle, police allegedly lost sight of the vehicle before it sped off towards Helensvale.
“A short time later, police were called to reports of a two-vehicle traffic accident involving the same Peugeot and a white Ford van on Hope Island Road in Helensvale,” the police statement said.
“It is alleged that the driver of the Peugeot (a 35-year-old Bellbird Park attendant) fled the scene on foot, but his passenger, a 56-year-old Bellbird Park attendant, remained in the vehicle.
“Robina, 29, the driver and sole occupant of the Ford, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.”
The driver of the Peugeot was found nearby and arrested. He was charged with one count each of dangerous driving, being adversely affected by an intoxicant, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to remain at the scene, failure to intervene and failure to render aid.
He will appear at Southport Magistrates’ Court on January 8, 2026.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage of the dangerous driving incident to contact them.
