Hyderabad to Distribute ORS, Zinc Under ‘Stop Diarrhoea Campaign’

Haydarabad: At the Institute of Medical Sciences, a non -medical worker saved the patient’s life in time by making cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Karimnagar, 46 -year -old Baggi Ashok from Pedda Nakkalapet in Dharmapuri Mandal visited the hospital’s general medicine OPD ward for a medical control with his wife Lakshmi when he collapsed due to chest pain. Without waiting for the doctors, Srinivas, a worker placed in the same room, performed CPR and ran to Ashok to the ward of acute Medical Care (AMC) on a stretcher and saved his life.
He appreciated the NIMS Director Dr Nagari Bhearampa Srinivas, who recognized the existence of mind and rapid action. Doctors said that Ashok’s condition is stable and healed well.
“This requires emergency service training for all staff. Everyone should be trained in CPR and infection control. CPR should start in emergencies.” He said.
NIMS provides CPR training at least once a year for all employees. However, doctors suggest that this frequency should increase as the sudden cardiac arrest number has increased recently.
Oral Rehaidration Solution (ORS) packages and zinc tablets will be provided to public schools, hostels and Anganwadis as part of the ‘stopping diarrhea campaign’ of the center.
