HYDRAA secures government land – The Hindu

Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday removed encroachments on government lands in Jubilee Hills and Khanamet.
In Jubilee Hills, 150 square meters of a two-acre parkland was encroached upon by a tenant who ran a women’s hostel in a nearby house. In the statement made by HYDRAA, it was stated that the person built rooms on a 50 square meter land adjacent to the existing building. The 100 square meter area was fenced and used as a private park.
Following complaints from local residents in Prajavani, officials confirmed the encroachment after conducting a site inspection along with GHMC officials, demolished the structure and erected fences. A police case was registered.
In a separate incident, five acres allocated by the government to the All India Velama Association near the Hitec Exhibition Grounds in Khanamet were secured against encroachments. After the Supreme Court decided to stop the allocation upon objections, the association representatives complained about the local people’s attempts to encroach on the land. HYDRAA conducted an inspection and fenced the five-acre parcel and installed signs to prevent encroachment pending court order.
