King Charles offers olive branch to Harry and Meghan on one condition | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

King Charles has reportedly sent an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, offering them a place to stay when they return to the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not visited the UK together for several years. Although Harry, 41, has returned to his hometown many times, Meghan, 44, has not returned since September 2022, when she attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth.

Their absence from the UK follows their decision in 2020 to step down from working members of the Royal family. They have since been embroiled in a contentious feud with the royal family, which escalated following revelations about Meghan’s alleged role in Harry’s estrangement from his family.

However, there appears to be a thaw in tensions, with sources suggesting King Charles has invited Harry and Meghan to take up residence at the Royal estate if they visit the UK in the coming months.

The 77-year-old monarch is thought to have offered his son and daughter-in-law accommodation at Highgrove House, a private country house in Gloucestershire, during their visit.

Speculation is rife that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may return to the UK together for the Invictus Games in Birmingham this July.

The event will mark a one-year countdown to the games designed to support injured soldiers and veterans, a cause close to Harry’s heart.

“If the current thaw in family relations continues, they are likely to remain at the royal residence during their stay in the UK, which includes the events of Invictus,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Express US has requested comment from King Charles’ representatives.

Amid speculation that Meghan might accompany her husband to England, Harry’s spokesperson has come forward to clarify the matter.

Addressing rumors that Meghan will return to the UK soon, the spokesperson described them as “pure speculation”.

“I reported late last night that the Duchess of Sussex plans to return to the UK this summer,” royal commentator Tom Sykes shared in a Substack post.

Sykes also addressed a source speculating about Meghan’s potential return: “I think she’ll be back with him and the kids. They like to do things as a family whenever they can, and when they do things for charity they often take the kids with them privately. I don’t see any reason for her to come back with the kids without him.”

He added: “A spokesman for Prince Harry told me the report was ‘pure speculation’.”
