I-270 eastbound lanes reopen hours after shooting prompted hours-long closure

Eastbound Interstate 270 has reopened after a shooting closed the highway for several hours, according to a Columbus police officer.
The dispatcher said the highway reopened just after 4:30pm on Wednesday, October 8th. Officers were “slowly” reopening the highway and removing traffic cones and crime scene tape, according to the dispatcher.
The highway was closed for several hours after a caller reported someone opened fire from a moving vehicle on the highway near the Interstate 71 interchange on the city’s North Side shortly after 1 p.m., a city dispatcher said.
