Zelenskiy says Ukraine developing interceptor drones to counter Russian attacks

(Reuters) -This president Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday that Ukraine is working on the rapid development of preventive drones to resist the herds of Russian drones descending into Ukraine cities in recent weeks.

Ukrainian officials said vital importance to developing technology that can handle the threat of posing the threat of pose, the Iranian -designed Shahed drones deployed by Russian drones during a single night.

Russian forces use more than 400 drones over one night and were fired on more than 470 occasions.

A total of 440 drones – plus 32 missiles – this week was deployed in an “combined” attack on Kiev, who flattened a part of an apartment building and killed 28 people.

Air Force Spokesman Yuri Ihnat told the Ukrainian media this week, “Drone Air Defense will help us to rationally use our vehicles.

“The enemy is getting more and more shahed, and therefore we are looking for different methods to resist them.”

Zelenskiy and other officials showed domestic drone production as a key element in national defense, and production significantly increased almost disappearing before the Russian invasion in 2022.

The President told foreign gun manufacturers that Ukraine could produce 4 million drones annually and rapidly increased other weapons production.

Ukraine also uses drones against various targets in Russia, especially industry and military. In a major operation at the beginning of last month, Ukrainian drones attacked a strategic bombing plane at different Russian airports.
