Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson played one of the most memorable knocks of the tournament. Samson scored 89 runs in the final, the highest individual score in a T20 World Cup final.
Throughout the tournament, Samson also showcased his explosive batting form throughout the competition by hitting 24 sixes, the most in a single series in the men’s T20 World Cup.
Fastest century in tournament history
Another record-breaking moment came from New Zealand’s Finn Allen, who hit 100 off just 33 balls in the semi-final. The knock became the fastest century in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup history and highlighted Allen’s exceptional power-hitting ability.
Best performers of the tournament
The tournament also witnessed strong performances from many international players. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan emerged as one of the top scorers in the competition.
Canada’s Yuvraj Samra recorded the highest individual score of the tournament with 110 in an innings, while Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett recorded the highest batting average of 146 during the competition. Among the bowlers, India’s Varun Chakaravarthy topped the wicket-taking charts with 14 wickets and finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. West Indies’ Romario Shepherd had the best bowling figures of 5/20.
