ICC Two-Tier Test System Proposal

London: The International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to explore the idea of a two -layer system in the test jack during the annual general meeting in Singapore, but what does that mean? Let’s go to know more.

A eight -member working group, headed by Sanjog Gupta, the new general manager of the ICC, was founded by the game’s global administration organ to discover the possibility of reconstructing the test jack in a two -layer system.

The Committee was founded under the entire Indian leadership of President Jay Shah and Gupta, who was appointed as CEO at the beginning of this month during the ICC’s annual meeting in Singapore.

Other members of the panel include the ‘Guardian’ report, according to the report of the British and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) General Manager Richard Gould and Cricket Australia (CA) General Manager Todd Greenberg.

What is a two -layer system

The system proposes to double the countries with six teams of each group.

Currently, nine teams are competing in the World Test Championship, but if the proposed two -layer system is applied, the building will move to two parts of six teams and offer a promotional and fall mechanism.

CA and ECB discussed the two -layer concept last year. CA has been an important advocate that pushes Australia, England and India for a model that has faced twice twice in two years.

“Due to the fact that it is carried out from 2027 to 2029, any changes will be brought to the next cycle of the World Test Championship and it will include expansion from the existing nine team formats to six sections.”

He was asked to submit his suggestions to the Board by the end of the year.

The presence of Gould and Greenberg shows that there is a strong possibility for the introduction of the new two -layer system as CA and ECB.
