City of Destiny, Dr. YSR ACA will host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup match between India and Australia at the VDCA International Cricket Stadium.
There was great interest in the match, as the tickets for the match to be played in the stadium with a capacity of 27 thousand spectators were sold out days in advance.
ICC president Jay Shah and BCCI top officials are also expected to be present at the city stadium during the match. IT Minister Nara Lokesh, ACA president Keseni Sivanath and Secretary Sana Satish Babu will also be present.
While tickets for all matches to be held in Visakhapatnam start from ₹100, tickets for the match between India and Australia start from ₹150.
“India and Australia matches always attract the attention of spectators, be it men or women. Visakhapatnam is honored to host such an important match in the World Cup,” said a senior official of Andhra Cricket Association (ACA).

The stands were named after the female cricketer
Ahead of this match, ACA will announce the names of former India women’s team captain Mithali Raj and wicketkeeper Ravi Kalpana to the two stands.
ACA took this decision after Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana highlighted the absence of stadium stands named after leading Indian women cricketers during the ‘Breaking Boundaries with Nara Lokesh’ event held in August. Acting on Mandhana’s call, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh consulted the ACA, which led to a quick decision to honor women cricket icons by naming the stands at the Vizag ground after them.
Before the match, city police placed the stadium under a thick security blanket. Senior police officers, led by Commissioner of Police Shankhabrata Bagchi, inspected the security drills conducted on Saturday.
