ICE agents fatally shoot woman in Minneapolis, DHS says

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minneapolis fatally shot a woman in her car on Wednesday, federal authorities said.

“Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations, rioters began obstructing ICE officers, and one of these violent rioters armed his vehicle, attempted to run over our law enforcement officers with the intent of killing them — this is an act of domestic terrorism,” he said. Department of Homeland Security Deputy Minister Tricia McLaughlin a post on x.

Video posted on social media and purportedly from the scene shows ICE officers approaching a group of cars parked on a suburban street.

In the video, a woman can be heard saying “Get out of our neighborhood” from behind the camera.

In the video, ICE agents are seen quickly getting out of their truck, walking up to a vehicle blocking the road and saying, “Ma’am, get out of the car, get out of the car, get out of the fucking car.”

The car then backed up slightly and began to move away; At this point at least three shots were fired. Less than three seconds pass between the time the car reverses and moves forward and the gunfire begins.

“Oh shit, God!” A woman screams in the video.

The car from which the shots were fired sped off and crashed into another car down the street.

“Dude, why did you commit murder?” a man shouts in the video.

Multiple elected officials from Minnesota demanded that ICE leave Minneapolis following the attack.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey blasted ICE during a press conference, calling the dead woman’s claim that she tried to kill agents “bullshit.”

“I have a message for ICE and ICE: Get out of Minneapolis,” Frey said.

“What they do causes chaos and insecurity. They tear families apart,” Frey said.

“They are sowing chaos on our streets and in this case literally killing people, so they are already trying to twist this as an act of self-defense,” the mayor said.

“After seeing my own video, I want to tell everyone directly that this was a bull. This was an agent who recklessly used force and caused someone to die, to be killed,” Frey said.

“I have been following reports that a legal observer was shot by ICE agents in South Minneapolis,” Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., wrote in a post on X.

“ICE must stop terrorizing our communities and leave our city,” Omar wrote.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said: a tweet, “We will share information as we learn more. In the meantime, I ask people to remain calm.”
