ICE detainer issued for Egyptian man accused of rape in Nashville

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Friday filed an arrest warrant for an illegal alien from Egypt accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Tennessee while she slept in her bed on New Year’s Eve.
Mena Mohsen Farez Nmn Awad, 31, allegedly entered a Nashville apartment and sexually assaulted the victim, whose nephew was sleeping in her bed next to WSMV-TV. reported.
The report claimed that the girl found Awad in her bed with a gun tucked into her waist and was sexually assaulted.
He later broke free, captured his nephew, and told Awad that he would not tell anyone about the incident if he left.

Awad has a history of violence since entering the U.S. through the Diversity Visa program in 2017, according to DHS.
He has previously been charged with domestic violence, intimidation, weapon possession, violating a court order and vehicle theft, the agency said.
“Terrible immigration policies allowed this monster to enter our country and victimize children and families,” Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. he said. “This child rapist was allowed into our country through the Diversity Lottery program. Secretary Noem paused the diversity lottery to ensure no more Americans were harmed by this disastrous program.”

McLaughlin added that ICE will ensure that the arresting officer “is not released onto our streets to victimize more children.”
The victim called her sister, who contacted authorities after Awad left the home, according to DHS.
Awad was later captured by police in Louisville, Kentucky, on January 16 and extradited to Tennessee the following week.

The man was charged with aggravated rape with a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery, DHS said.
