Iceland volcano erupts, forcing evacuation of spa

According to national publisher RUV reports, a volcanic explosion in southwestern Iceland forced the evacuation of tourists by the internationally known Blue Lagoon Geothermal spa.
Iceland’s Met Office said that the explosion started on Wednesday morning after a dense seismic herd on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest of the capital.
Shortly after seismic activity, a camping area in Grindavik town was evacuated.
Ruv reported that guests in Blue Lagoon were forced to quickly pack their bags.
The MET office is flowing from a crack in a barren view of 700 meters to 1000 meters wide from the explosion, but the molten rock does not threaten any infrastructure.
Since November 2023, Grindavik has been repeatedly affected by the activity in which a volcano in the region came to life after 800 years.
However, the authorities said that this was not in danger on Wednesday.
