CDS General Anil Chauhan gets 8-month extension till May 2026

The center approved the extension of the General Anil Chauhan’s service to the previous orders as the Defense Personnel (CD) and the Secretary, until May 30, 2026 or before, as the Ministry of Military Affairs. Gen Chauhan’s best military officer is scheduled to end his current mission on September 30th. He has been a defense chief since September 30, 2022.

Gen Chauhan, who was appointed at the Indian Army in 1981, had an elite career with key commands and personnel appointments. General Chauhan is the second CD that assumed the task after General Bipin Rawat. Gen Chauhan was also awarded with Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, ATI Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
