IIM-K breaks into global top 100 in QS rankings

The Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) has achieved a global milestone by entering the Top 100 in the prestigious QS World University Rankings Subject 2026 for the first time.
In a press release on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, it was stated that the institute was ranked 78th globally in the narrow subject category of Business and Management Studies, marking a significant rise from last year’s rank of 141st.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 assessed 6,277 institutions globally; 1,912 institutions were ranked across 55 narrow subject areas and five broad subject areas, yielding more than 21,000 ranking entries. IIM-K’s strong performance in this highly competitive global assessment underlines its growing international visibility and academic excellence in management education.
This success also reflects a consistent upward trend of the institute. IIM-K, which was in the 401-450 band in 2021, increased to 151-200 band in 2024. By reaching 141 in the individual Rankings for the first time in 2025, IIM-K has consolidated its place among the top 100 institutions in the world in its field.
