Couple Dies by Suicide Over Financial Debts

Hyderabad:Chaitanyapuri police said that a vegetable vendor couple died allegedly by suicide at their home due to mounting financial debts. Inspector K. Saidulu said that the deceased Mallesh (45) and Santoshi (37) were survived by three children.

Police said they received a report that the couple was missing on Thursday. Police tracked them from their mobile location and went to the scene to find Santoshi dead while Mallesh struggled. He was taken to Gandhi Hospital where he died on Friday.

“We were told that this was due to financial difficulties, although we did not receive information about whether there was a specific loan,” the inspector said. The bodies were taken to Gandhi morgue for autopsy. Police started investigations.

Techie Promised a Movie on Life, Was Cheated ₹ 93 L

Hyderabad:A software worker from Kondapur was allegedly duped of ₹ 93.35 lakh by two people who promised to make a film based on his story and chose him as the hero and co-producer.

According to the police, the 45-year-old complainant, through his friends, was introduced to a woman identified as Sirichandhana alias Madhi in March 2022 and later to Sai Bolla alias Sai Chaudhary. Chaudhary claimed that he had close ties with leading filmmakers and could launch a project starring the target.

Believing these assurances, the victim transferred money into Sai’s bank account from February 2023 to May 2025, described as film-related expenses, including film room membership fees. Chaudhary, who later refused to pay additional amounts demanded by the accused, allegedly removed him from the project. Police said the complainant also reported that he was threatened when he asked for the return of his money.

Gachibowli inspector Mohd Habeebullah Khan said the complaint was made about a month ago. “A case has been registered based on the complaint and further investigation is on,” he said.

Man Gets 3-Year RI for Organizing Prostitution Rack

hyderabad: Senior Civil Court Medchal-Malkajgiri on Friday sentenced a man to three years rigorous imprisonment under Phase 7 of KPHB for running a prostitution racket. The court also fined 30-year-old Ripon Shaik from West Bengal 300 thousand.

In March, KPHB police rescued five women, four from Bangladesh and one from Uttarakhand, from a prostitution centre. Police had identified Shaik as the organizer who sold and exploited the victims. The other five people involved in the racket are running away.

The investigation revealed that the defendant imprisoned the victims and exploited them for commercial sexual exploitation. A criminal complaint was filed and the court took up the case.

Defective license plates are prohibited from entering the airport

hyderabad:Vehicles with faded license plates, defaced vehicles or vehicles with improper documentation will not be allowed into Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Transport officials warned those who violated the rules, stating that a checkpoint would soon be established at the airport. Due to the heavy movement of taxis and vehicles at the airport, officials said this move will help prevent violations.

RTA, Shemshabad Region motor vehicle inspector Sai Krishnaveni said, “We carried out a surprise check at the airport on Friday and explained the rules to the drivers, especially taxi drivers. A checkpoint will be established here soon and inspections will also be carried out in the parking lots.”

Man who paid Rs 2 cr to escape arrested

hyderabadVuppala Satish, who gave Rs 2 crore to a sub-inspector to allow him to escape custody in a Rs 2,000-crore cheating case, was detained by Hyderabad police in Mumbai on Friday. It was reported that the police also arrested his wife.

Earlier, Hyderabad police had registered a case against Satish and his wife Shilpa for duping a number of victims of Rs 2,000 crore after collecting the money with the promise of returning it at a high interest rate.

During the investigation into the scam case, sub-inspector Srikanth and his team went to Mumbai on a tip-off and detained Satish. When they were to be brought to Hyderabad, Satish allegedly offered Rs 2 crore to Srikanth, who let him go. Srikanth then told his seniors that Satish had escaped from his custody. The issue of cash for the escape came to light and the Hyderabad police force suspended Srikanth.

As part of the investigation, upon information that Satish was hiding there, a police team went to Mumbai and detained the accused. Sources said Satish and his wife were brought to the city.

2 Held for Shooting with an Air Pistol

hyderabad:Two men who opened fire with an air gun at a jeweler in Narkuda, Shemshabad, late on Wednesday night were arrested. According to Shamshabad inspector Narender Reddy, the victim, Samir Das, a native of West Bengal, was returning home when the incident took place.

The accused were identified as Gudula Chandu Goud and Thurpati Krishna. Police said Das was preparing to return home with his son-in-law Pintu Hati and his friends. When their bikes didn’t start, they stopped a passing car. The driver allegedly demanded $800 to go to City College, while the complainant offered $500. During the argument, two suspects sitting in the backseat of the vehicle got out of the vehicle and harassed and assaulted him.

Inspector Narender Reddy said Goud took out his air gun and fired at Das, injuring him in the stomach, while Krishna snatched Das’ phone. The defendant allegedly threatened Hati and his friends, warning them that they would be shot if they tried to intervene. Das called the police and was taken to a private hospital, where doctors removed the bullet. It is stated that his condition is stable.

Man Died by Suicide Due to Abuse

hyderabad: A 32-year-old man, who was about to get married, died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by loan sharks after recording a video in Vanasthalipuram on Thursday. Police said Paranda Srikanth of Sahebnagar borrowed Rs 2 lakh from four people from Hayathnagar. It was alleged that for the last few days, they had been threatening her and pressuring her to repay the amount, even though her marriage was planned.

They reportedly warned him over the phone that if he failed to pay the dues before the wedding, they would lock his house and drag him to the road.

Police said Srikanth recorded a video and sent it to the Sahebnagar WhatsApp group, stating that he could not bear the harassment anymore. He sought forgiveness from his parents and said he had repeatedly told lenders that he would clear the dues after marriage. While the harassment continued, Srikanth left the house, went towards the Kappalacheruvu embankment in Hariharapuram colony and took the extreme step.

Early on Friday morning, hikers spotted his body near the embankment and alerted local residents, who in turn notified the police. Vanasthalipuram police reached the spot and took the body to Osmania Hospital morgue for autopsy and later handed it over to the family.

Following the complaint of his father Narasimha, the police launched an investigation into the incident. Srikanth is survived by his parents, two younger brothers and an elder sister.

KPHB Police Recovered 10 Tolas of Gold Lost by IT Worker in 3 Hours

Hyderabad: KPHB police traced and recovered a bag containing 10 tolas of gold lost by an IT employee within three hours of receiving the complaint on Wednesday. Police said the complainant, K. Sathish of Bachupally, and his family lost the bag at KPHB bus stand. Sathish thanked the KPHB police for their timely intervention and ensuring the safe return of the valuables.

Air conditioner repair workshop destroyed in Hasthinapuram

hyderabad: The interior of an air conditioner repair workshop was completely gutted in a fire that broke out in a two-storey building in Hasthinapuram on Friday afternoon, according to Vanasthalipuram. The building is owned by Sridhar, who runs the repair shop on the ground floor and has residential flats on both floors. It is thought that the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion inside the store.

Residents of the building who heard the voices immediately went out and informed the police and fire brigade. Two firefighters and police personnel arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames within 20 minutes. Police said no casualties were reported.

The shop was damaged in the incident. Police said no formal complaint had been made.

Miyapur Traffic Officer Injured in Hit and Run Incident

hyderabad: Miyapur traffic patrol chief constable Md Khaleemuddin was injured in a hit-and-run accident while clearing a damaged car from the road after midnight on Thursday, police said. While Khaleemuddin was on patrol, they received a call about a road accident near a hotel on the Madinaguda-Miyapur main road at 12.48 pm.

The teams arriving at the scene found that a car crashed into the roadside and blocked traffic. While pulling the car to the roadside, Khaleemuddin was hit by a truck heading from Chandanagar towards Miyapur roads.

The man, who sustained injuries on the back of his head, elbows and left leg, was admitted to a private hospital in Madinaguda. Truck driver Devi Reddy from Kothapally in Vikarabad district fled the spot after the accident.
