An illegal alien allegedly responsible for a fatal crash that killed two people in Oregon has been issued a commercial driver’s license by California under Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
In a statement on Monday, the agency also said that Rajinder Kumar, an illegal Indian national charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment, was allowed into the country and issued a work permit by the Biden administration.
Kumar, 32, crashed his semi-truck and trailer, blocking both lanes of US Highway 20 in Deschutes County, Oregon, around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, Fox 12 Oregon reported. A Subaru Outback collided with Kumar’s semi-truck, killing both driver William Micah Carter and passenger Jennifer Lynn Lower, according to DHS.
DHS said ICE filed a detention request for Kumar’s arrest. He is currently being held in the Deschutes County jail. “Because Oregon is a sanctuary state, ICE will use all reasonable efforts to detain Kumar should he be released,” the agency said.

According to DHS, Kumar entered the United States illegally in November 2022 near Lukeville, Arizona. The agency said Kumar was released into the country by the Biden administration, after which he was granted a work permit by the administration in 2023 and was issued a commercial driver’s license from California.
This follows several high-profile auto accidents involving illegal aliens licensed by refugee states.
In August, another illegal immigrant driving a semi-truck named Harjinder Singh, also from India, made an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike. The maneuver resulted in a minivan crashing into the truck, killing the driver and two passengers.

ICE also filed a warrant against Singh after he was arrested on three counts of vehicular homicide.
DHS said in August that ICE arrested another criminal illegal alien, Partap Singh, who it said caused a multi-car crash while driving a commercial truck in California, leaving 5-year-old Dalilah Coleman with critical, life-changing injuries.
In October, ICE issued a detention order for Jashanpreet Singh, who DHS said killed three people while driving a drunk truck in California.

“Rajinder Kumar, an illegal criminal from India, was released into our country under the Biden administration and issued a commercial driver’s license by Gavin Newsom’s Department of Motor Vehicles. How many more senseless tragedies must occur before sanctimonious politicians stop allowing illegal aliens to operate semi-trucks dangerously on America’s roads?” said McLaughlin. “Under Secretary Noem, ICE will continue its efforts to remove illegal alien truck drivers from America’s highways.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom’s office, the California Department of Motor Vehicles and former President Joe Biden for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
