Illegal tobacco sellers in NSW to face jail and forced shop closures under tougher proposed laws.

Illegal tobacco sellers may face up to seven years of imprisonment, and because Sydney tries to address the explosion of an explosive illegal cigarette trade, the shops under new laws to be introduced by the NSW government may force the closing of the shops.

The government overhauled the sale of illegal tobacco last week, including new forces to evacuate retailers caught by selling illegal tobacco or vapes. The bill will authorize NSW Health to give short -term closing orders for businesses for 90 days and 12 months by order of court order.
