In hot water: Car thieves hide in hot tub after crime spree | News

A pair of car thieves have been caught hiding in a hot tub following a string of car thefts in Yorkshire.
In October 2024, stolen vehicles were detected heading towards Doncaster in convoy. Officers successfully deflated one of the car’s tires with a sting device before the group dropped it off at a nearby residential area.
A police dog tracked Ryan Wilkinson, 25, of St Edwins Drive, Dunscroft, and Adrian Askin, 28, of Poplar Road, Skellow, where they were found soaking wet, hiding under a hot tub cover in a garden. Cyle Jenkins, 23, of Princess Avenue, Stainforth, was found in a caravan.
The trio pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated burglary, one count of burglary and two counts of motor vehicle theft. They were sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison on Friday, November 21.
