President Donald Trump said Saturday that he plans to sue JPMorgan Chase within weeks, accusing the bank of “wrongly and improperly debiting” him from his bank account following the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol protest. Trump paired the threat of a lawsuit with a rebuttal of a report from The Wall Street Journal that said he had offered JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon the role of chairman of the Federal Reserve. Trump, a two-time president, called the claim “totally false” saying no such offer was ever made and blamed the newspaper for not seeking comment before publication.
