India Achieved 51.5 GW Wind Energy Capacity, Registered 150 PC Growth in a Decade

New Delhi: Union Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi said that India has reached a capacity of 51.5 GW wind energy, which has a growth of 150 percent in decade in a decade, and is currently exporting turbines and components globally. The Minister also said that India has the fourth largest wind energy capacity in the world and is the third largest renewable energy producer.
Addressing the global wind day celebrations in Bengaluru, the Minister said that India would be the world’s production center. “We will compete with many of our neighbors, including Vietnam and China. So when we want to compete there, the main thing we need is power. Therefore, we need renewable energy and traditional energy in this power, but we need more renewable power.”
In an article in X, Joshi said India’s 51.5 GW wind capacity, 150 percent growth in decades in decade, and currently exporting turbines and components globally. On the occasion of the Global Wind Day, we are moving towards 100 GW wind wind target, including 30 GW from the open sea projects supported by strong policy reforms and a solid production ecosystem. ”
Underlining three basic critical problems for the wind energy sector, the Minister said that the government supports this sector with full seriousness and that this year’s renewable energy budget increased by 53 percent with a big share for the wind.
By elaborating the problems, he said that we should first combine the wind with sun and storage to ensure daytime power and grill stability. “Second, tariffs should be competitive. The ratio of 3.90 RS per unit is very high and we should work together to reduce costs. Third, domestic production should be more efficient not only to meet our own goals, but to increase exports,” he said.
Orum I am happy to state that India produces wind turbines ranging from 225 kW to 5.2 MW, these turbines have been produced by 14 companies. These turbines meet our domestic needs and at the same time cost competitive. States must be a global transition.
Joshi, in the future growth in the wind energy industry, stressed to completely unlock the national wind potential, especially in some states. “We need a coordinated national pressure and therefore we focus on 5 priorities- expanding new states such as Madhya Pradesh, Tangana and Odisha, starting with the 4 GW rental area in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, the wind is integrated and in the form of the wind, the wind is integrated in the form of the wind. ”He said.
