India, China review border situation, prepare for Special Representatives dialogue

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, India and China reviewed the overall situation during the real control line in East Ladakh (LAC) and prepared the ground for the next edition of the dialogue of private representatives on the border question.
The two sides discussed the issues at the meeting of the Advisory and Coordination Mechanism (WMCC) in Delhi.

During the WMCC talks, Mea said that the two sides reviewed the situation in India-China border regions.
They said that they have agreed to establish regular changes and contacts on border affairs at diplomatic and military levels through established mechanisms “.

The Indian delegation in the WMCC talks was directed by Gourangalal DAS, the joint secretary in the MEA. It was ruled to the Chinese side by Hong Liang, General Manager of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Border and Ocean Affairs.
Mr. Hong also called Foreign Minister Vikram Misri.
Relatoins normalization
For the last nine months, India and China have tried to normalize their relationship after the end of the military face during the LAC in October last year.
Although the two sides disabled the troops from the friction points, they have not yet increased the situation by withdrawing the front forces from the border.
Both sides currently have about 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers during the Lac in the East Ladakh region.
WMCC talks took place days after Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar visited China to join the Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The military hearing in Eastern Ladakh began in May 2020, and in June that year, a deadly conflict in the Galwan Valley resulted in a serious forced vineyards between the two neighbors.
