India Joins US-led Global Alliance Pax Silica on AI, Supply Chain

New Delhi: India signed and participated in the Pax Silica Declaration on the sidelines of the Global AI Impact Summit held here in the national capital on Friday. US Ambassador to India Segio Gor; During the signing of the declaration, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth and Energy Jacob Helberg and Union Minister of Information Technologies Ashwini Vaishnaw were present.
Gor had earlier emphasized India’s commitment and the expanding scope of cooperation between the two countries. Welcoming India to the Pax Silica initiative, signing this partnership that the two countries have chosen to win, he said: “We welcome India’s participation to establish that the tax silicon of the future is about free society, whether free societies can control the commanding heights of the global economy. It is about whether innovation takes place in Bangalore and Silicon Valley or in surveillance states that use technology to monitor and control their people. We choose freedom, we choose partnership. We choose power. And today, with India’s entry into Pax silica, We choose to win.” Gor said that US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment Jacob Helberg also praised India’s accession to the Pax Silica Declaration, underlining the importance of transforming economic security into national security and standing against pressure and blackmail that undermine the prosperity of nations. His remarks came as India officially joined Pax Silica, the US-led effort on artificial intelligence and supply chain security, on the sidelines of the Global AI Impact Summit. held here in the national capital.
Pax Silica is the U.S. State Department’s flagship effort on artificial intelligence and supply chain security, advancing new economic security consensus among allies and trusted partners. The Pax Silica Declaration underlines the importance of a reliable supply chain as indispensable for mutual economic security and recognizes artificial intelligence as a transformative force for long-term prosperity. The partnership came soon after India attended the Critical Minerals Ministerial Meeting convened by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, represented by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in early February.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026, the first global AI summit held in the Global South, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics and civil society representatives to deliberate on responsible AI governance and inclusive technological advancement.
