India reserves right to deter cross-border terror attacks, Rajnath tells Hegseth, thanks U.S. for support

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh thanked US Defense Minister Pete Hegset for the US support during the Sindoor operation on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, and said that India had reserved the right to prevent and deterre the cross -border terrorist attacks.

Mr. Singh said that India’s actions were measured during the operation, not aggressive, proportional, and focused on disabling the terror infrastructure.

The two leaders spoke for the first time after the Sindoor Operation. Mr. Hegseth was the third phone call since January when he took office. On April 22, they spoke right after the expensive attack.

Sources said that the two leaders had a 20 -minute interview, and Mr. Hegset invited Mr. Singh to the United States to take the bilateral defense partnership forward.
