India vs West Indies 1st Test sees poor turnout, fans dig up Virat Kohli’s statement on empty stadium

Cricket enthusiasts expressed their dissatisfaction with unexpected participation at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 2, and coincided with a national holiday for Team India’s first test match against the Western Indian Islands.

Only days after the Asian Cup 2025 moved, the Indian team went to the field for the first test against the West Indian Islands in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. However, instead of live crowds and an electric atmosphere, stands looked unimaginable. The fans quickly noted the absence of the king – Virat Kohli, who once filled the stadiums and filled the test jack.

On May 12, 2025, iconic virat Kohli announced that he retired from the test jack and ended a 36 -year -old 14 -year -old career. Together with Kohli, Rohit Sharma and R. Ashwin, the energy in the stands dispersed and felt the opening test in Ahmedabad immediately.

In X (formerly called Twitter), Cricket enthusiasts expressed their discontent about unexpected participation at the Narendra Modi Stadium, a national holiday on October 2.

Virat Kohli, which is generally mainly attractive for the audience, is no longer part of India’s test series, and it significantly affects the participation of its absence.

When he joined Kohli Ranji Trophy Games, a few users went further and released images from previous matches in Delhi. These photographs exhibited how crowded the stands were and emphasized sharp contrast since his retirement, showing that even important matches were experiencing noticeable crowds without tendency.

What Virat Kohli says

After the Ranchi test in 2019, Virat Kohli provided the right to host the test matches aimed at attracting fans to the stadiums.

“We’ve been discussing this for a long time, and I think we must have five test centers,” Kohli, after the completion of the Ranchi test in 2019. “I mean, I agree. [with] State associations and rotation and game and all of these; This is good for the T20 and a day -old cricket, but the cricket test, teams coming to India ‘will play in these five centers, these are the fields we expect, these people will come to watch, crowds’.

“So this is already a challenge, when you leave your shores, because we go anywhere, we know that we have four test matches in these places, what this field will offer, will be a stadium, behind the crowd [home] The team and look, you want to keep the test jack alive and exciting. I completely agree with the fact that we need a maximum of five test centers.

He continued: “People cannot spread to many places where they emerge or not, and therefore, I think the teams that come to India should know that this is where it will play.”
