Indian fighter jet pilot killed in crash at Dubai airshow

A pilot was killed when an Indian fighter jet crashed while performing at an air show in Dubai, officials said.

In a statement, the Indian Air Force said: “IAF is deeply saddened by the loss of life and stands with the bereaved family at this painful time.

“A court of inquiry has been established to determine the cause of the accident.”

According to the Associated Press, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd’s Tejas jet crashed around 14:10 local time.

Dubai Media Office and the UAE Ministry of Defense said firefighters and emergency services “rapidly responded” to the incident and managed the situation on the spot.

The Dubai Airshow 2025 website says the event attracted more than 148,000 exhibitors and exhibitors from 1,500 companies.

The fatal accident occurred on the last day of the air show, which started on Monday.
