Satish Goyal, the president of the association, said that approximately 1.00,000 tons of basmati rice designed for Iran is now stuck in the ports of India and that Iran is 18-20 percent of India’s total Basmati rice exports. Authorized, delays and payments in shipments around the uncertainties may cause serious financial stress, stating that the domestic market rice prices have already dropped 4-5 RS per kg, he added. The Association is in contact with the agricultural export promotion body in this regard.
