India’s mobile phone exports rise 127 times to ₹2 lakh crore in 10 years

Mobile phone exports from India have increased 127 times in the last 10 financial years and parliament was informed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

According to the data that Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada shared with a written response to Lok Sabha, the exports of mobile phones increased 127 times from India at 2024-25 from 1,500 Crore in 2014-15.

“The PLI scheme for LSEM has already attracted a cumulative investment of 12,390 Crube, 4,65,809 CRORE ₹ 8,44,752 CRORE caused a cumulative production and created an additional employment of 1,30,330 (direct work) until 2025.” He said.

The production -related incentive (PLI) scheme for large -scale electronic production is mainly for mobile phone production.

The Minister said that 75% of the total mobile phone demand in the country was met through imports at 2014-15 and fell to 0.02% in 2024-25.

“The PLI scheme for large -scale electronic production has significantly affected the mobile production sector in India, especially in converting India to a net exporter from net importer to net exporters. Bharat is now the second largest mobile production country in the world.” He said.
