India’s power-packed Davos delegation; Mukesh Ambani, N Chandrasekaran, Devendra Fadnavis and 100+ CEOs up for annual meeting

At the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the Indian delegation comprising Union Ministers, chief ministers of various states and over 100 CEOs of leading companies will head to the resort in the Swiss Alps for the global meeting from January 19 to 23. India has convincingly retained its tag as the world’s fastest-growing major economy and the political and business leadership will take strong action to attract global investments.

Union ministers who will be present at the economic brainstorming sessions in Davos include Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw; Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan; Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi; and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu.
Chief ministers who will be at the WEF to promote investments for their states include Devendra Fadnavis from Maharashtra, N Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh, A Revanth Reddy from Telangana, Mohan Yadav from Madhya Pradesh, Hemant Soren from Jharkhand and Himanta Biswa Sarma from Assam. This year’s Forum kicks off with the theme ‘The Spirit of Dialogue’ amid global economic uncertainties triggered by US tariff turmoil and increasing geopolitical uncertainties.
Indian business leaders include Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, Tata Group chairman N. Chandrasekaran, Bajaj Group chairman Sanjiv Bajaj, Jubilant Bhartia Group chairman Hari S. Bhartia, TVS Motor CEO Sudarshan Venu and Mahindra Group CEO Anish Shah, and more than 100 CEOs are expected to attend.
World leaders at WEF 2026
US President Donald Trump will make his presence felt with the largest US delegation ever seen at the WEF, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. Trump has already surprised European leaders by threatening to impose punitive tariffs on NATO allies if they do not support his plan to annex Greenland. EU ambassadors were holding urgent talks on Sunday, when the WEF started. According to WEF’s ‘Global Risks Report 2026’, geoeconomic conflict is now at the top of the near-term risks, leaving behind armed conflict and environmental threats.
Nearly 50 percent of survey respondents expect a turbulent global environment in 2026-28. The 56th WEF event in Davos-Klosters will gather around 3,000 leaders from more than 130 countries, including 400 senior political leaders and 850 CEOs. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney; French President Emmanuel Macron; Friedrich Merz, Federal Chancellor of Germany; European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen; He Lifeng, Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China; Argentinian President Javier Milei; Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto; and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez are among the heads of state who will attend the WEF. Top AI leaders such as Jensen Huang, Satya Nadella, Demis Hassabis and Dario Amodei will also attend the event.
