India’s Six Women Officers Make History No Nation Could Dream Of – Epic Ocean Voyage Stuns The World | World News

In a major milestone, Indian Army Sailing Ship (IASV) Triveni, comprising six women officers of the Indian Armed Forces, reached Perth, Australia, on Monday after completing the first leg of its global circumnavigation expedition under the Samudra Pradakshina mission.

Triveni, the world’s first Tri-Service All-Women Encirclement Expedition, was warmly welcomed by the Consul General of India in Perth, Kajari Biswas, and the Australian Defense Adviser at the Fremantle Sailing Club.

After a short rest, recovery period and maintenance, IASV Triveni will set off for the next leg of the mission, according to the Indian High Commission in Canberra.

During the circumnavigation, the crew will cross three major oceans, covering a distance of over 26,000 nautical miles.

The expedition, which was organized to commemorate Nari Shakti and the vision of Viksit Bharat, was effectively stopped from Mumbai by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on September 11.

Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh were also present with the Defense Minister at South Block during the virtual flag hoisting.

In his speech from South Block, Singh described the journey as a shining symbol of Nari Shakti, the collective strength, unity and togetherness of the three Services, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and its military diplomacy and global vision.

The Defense Minister called Samudra Pradakshina not just a journey on a ship but also a spiritual sadhana and a journey of discipline and willpower.

“During the campaign, our officers may face many difficulties, but the flames of determination will pierce the darkness. They will return home safely and show the world that the courage of Indian women is beyond all limits,” he said.

Singh described the Tri-Service tour as a shining example of the government’s commitment towards partnership between the three Services. “We believe that when there is a sense of unity among the Armed Forces, even the biggest challenge seems small,” he said.

Calling IASV Triveni, a 15-metre yacht indigenously built in Puducherry, as the embodiment of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Singh asserted that the ship reflects India’s confidence in defense innovation and technology. Triveni emphasized that every nautical mile is a journey towards India’s strategic autonomy and self-reliance.
