Two men charged with rape after alleged early-hours attack on teen | UK | News

Two men are due to appear in court accused of multiple rape charges following an alleged incident at a property in a seaside town.
The case concerns an 18-year-old woman who was reportedly assaulted in Southsea, Hampshire, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police said the alleged attack took place between 1am and 3am at an address on Manners Road, with the victim targeted by two men he did not know.
Shortly after the incident was reported, an investigation was launched and both suspects were charged.
Bobby Watson, 46, of Waltham Abbey in Essex, and Tony Goldsmith, 45, of Enfield, north London, were each charged with three counts of rape.
Both men were taken into custody and are expected to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed officers carried out full investigations following the report.
A force spokesman said: “The incident occurred between 1am and 3am at an address on Manners Road.
“Officers are carrying out full investigations to establish the full circumstances.
“They have now charged two people in connection with the incident.
“Tony Goldsmith, 45, of Gilbert Street, Enfield, has been charged with three counts of rape.
“Bobby Watson, 46, of Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, Essex, has been charged with three counts of rape.
“They were taken into custody and will appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Monday, June 29.”
