Indonesia accepts demand to cut MPs’ perks amid unrest

President Prabowo Subio said Indonesian political parties agreed to cancel some advantages and privileges for parliamentarians.
The protests, called excessive wages and housing allowances for demonstrators’ parliamentarians, began on Monday.
In a protest area, a motorcycle driver in the police action – a person – a motorcycle driver – expanded to the uprising on Thursday after his murder.
The houses of some members of some political party and state facilities were searched or flame.
Speaking at a press conference at the presidential palace on Sunday, Prabowo, surrounded by the leaders of various political parties, said that he ordered the army and the police to take harsh action against rebels and looters, and that some actions show “terrorism” and “betrayal”.
“Leaders in the parliament, parliamentary members, including the size of allowance and overseas work trips, including a series of parliamentary policies, including a series of parliamentary policies,” he said.
“According to the law, according to the law, I ordered them to act as solid as possible against the destruction of public facilities looted in the homes of individuals and economic centers.”
The protests are the greatest test for almost a year of government that has faced little or no political opposition since Prabowo came to power in October.
While the protests spread out of the capital Jakarta, the protests canceled a planned trip to China and a few regional parliament buildings shone.
Prabowo would attend a victory day parade in China on Wednesday to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the 8th anniversary of the end of the Second World War following Japan’s official surrender.
“The president wants to continue watching directly (the situation in Indonesia) and seek the best solutions, Pra said presidential spokesman Prasetoo Hadi.
“Therefore, the President of the Chinese government apologizes that he could not participate.”
Prasetoo said that another issue in the cancellation of the trip was a session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
In the light of the protest, Tiktok, a short video application of China’s Bay, said that he had suspended his live feature in Indonesia for several days on Saturday.
Jakarta called on representatives of social media platforms, including Meta Platform Inc and Tiktok this week, and said that the disinformation has spread online because the content of the disinformation is spreading online.
The government said that such a disinformation has created protests against it.
The protesters caused fires in regional parliamentary buildings in three provinces – West Nusa Tenggara, the City of Pekalongan in the center of Java and CireBon City in West Java – reported.
Tear gas was used against the protesters on the Bali holiday island shows also occurred.
