Indonesia’s president cancels China trip amid protests

Indonesian President Prabowo Subuanto canceled a trip to China because the protests spread out of the capital Jakarta, and several regional parliament buildings caught fire.
Prabowo would attend a victory day parade in China on 3 September to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the 8th anniversary of the end of the Second World War following Japan’s official surrender.
The protests, the first major exam for the almost annual government of Protowo, worsened after a police vehicle was shot and killing a motorcycle driver this week.
“The President wants to look for the best solutions (Indonesia) and the best solutions, Prasa said President Prasetoo Hadi, in a video statement on Saturday.
“Therefore, the President of the Chinese government apologizes that he could not participate.”
Prasetoo said that another issue in the cancellation of the trip was a session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
In the light of the protest, Tiktok, a short video app, which belongs to China’s foot, said that he had suspended his live feature in Indonesia for a few days on Saturday.
Jakarta called on representatives of social media platforms, including Meta Platform Inc and Tiktok this week, and said that the disinformation has spread online because the content of the disinformation is spreading online.
The government says such a disinformation has created protests against it.
Early on Saturday, the protesters caused fires in the regional parliamentary buildings in three provinces – West Nusa Tenggara, Pekalongan city in the center of Java and CireBon City in West Java.
Local media Detik said that protesters looted parliamentary office equipment in CireBon.
The police fired tear gas to distribute protesters in Pekalongan and Western Nusa Tenggara.
Indonesia Disaster Management Agency said three people were killed in arson attack on a parliamentary building in Makassar, the capital of the Southern Sulawesi province.
State News Agency Antara said that the victims were stuck in the burning building and two people were injured after jumping out of the building to escape the fire of the disaster management agency.
Local Media Outlet Metro TV News reported another death from the fire in the Makassar Parliament building. This could not be confirmed independently.
Protesters were used against protests, protests occurred on the Bali holiday island.
The local media also reported that a crowd Ahmad Sahroni, a deputy from the political party Nasdem, plundered his house and bought items including home furniture.
Sahroni was accused of responding insensitively to people who want to disperse on the allowances of MPs in the midst of anger.
