Inmate rearrested after spending day on the run from police

A prisoner who remained on the run for a day after escaping from Broken Hill Prison in western NSW has been arrested along with two people at the house where he was caught.
The alarm was raised when the 24-year-old man was last seen at the medium and minimum security facility around 2pm on Saturday.
The police launched an investigation to find the person.
He was found in a unit on McGowen Street in Broken Hill on Sunday morning.
Police also arrested two residents of the home, a 24-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman.
Man charged with prisoner escaping from lawful custody
The other man was charged with knowingly harboring an escaped convict.
The woman was accused of assaulting the police officer.
All three will appear in the Bail Division Court on Monday.
