Two people arrested after crashing stolen car

Police released CCTV footage of four cars set on fire in both Greenfields and Dudley Park during October in the hope the community could help identify anyone involved.

The first incident, which occurred at 4.20am on October 6 in Greenfields, resulted in 38-year-old Penelope Travers being hospitalized for 17 days with burns to 25 per cent of her body. after his home was targeted.

The incendiary bomb ricocheted off his car, ignited on the ground and spread to engulf Travers’ garage.

Awakened by the commotion, Travers ran outside and tried to extinguish the flames to save his home and family inside.

“I immediately tried to extinguish the fire, and as I tried to do so, nearby spray paint cans exploded in my face,” he said.

“I felt immediate pain, a searing pain, and I knew right away that I was in big trouble. I felt like my skin was melting.”

The second firebombing incident occurred in Dudley Park at around 1.20am on 10 October, the third in Greenfields at 5.20am and the fourth in Dudley Park at 5am on 24 October.

Investigators believe these incidents are all linked and have released CCTV footage in the hope someone can be found.
