President Donald Trump quickly boarded Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday, using small stairs due to “increased security measures,” a White House official told Fox News.

The increased precautions at the airport come after the Secret Service discovered a suspicious hunting ground near the airport on Friday that had a clear view of Air Force One as Trump boarded and departed the presidential plane.

Fox News was first to report that the potential sniper position had been discovered. No individuals were arrested.

FBI Director Kash Patel said his agency is handling the investigation.

Patel said the hunting stand has not yet been linked to anyone.

“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, the USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting ground in the line of sight of the Air Force One landing zone,” Patel told Fox News Digital. “No individuals were identified at the scene. The FBI has since assumed leadership of the investigation, directing resources to collect all evidence from the scene and deploying our cell phone analysis capabilities.”

USSS communications chief Anthony Guglielmi also confirmed that the organization is “working closely” with the FBI and law enforcement in Palm Beach County.

Guglielmi said agents discovered the hunting location during “preliminary security preparations” before Trump’s arrival in Palm Beach.

“There was no impact on any movement and no individuals were present or involved at the scene,” Guglielmi told Fox News.

“While we cannot provide detailed information about specific items or their purpose, this incident highlights the importance of our layered security measures,” he added.
