Iran blasts Trump as U.S. sends more troops to Middle East amid escalation

President Donald Trump’s “delusional fantasies” are plunging the region into chaos and putting Israel above American interests, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said on Sunday.
Ali Larjani wrote in X that Trump’s actions against the Islamic Republic now lead to fears of American military casualties.
He wrote of the epic Operation Rage: “Through his delusional actions, he transformed his self-made slogan of ‘America First’ into ‘Israel First’ and sacrificed American soldiers for Israel’s power-hungry ambitions, and with new fabrications, he is once again imposing on American soldiers and their families the price of his character assassination.”

Larijani stated that Iran was defending itself against American and Israeli aggression.
He added that Iran will not negotiate with the United States, denying a Wall Street Journal report that said he reached out to the US through Omani mediators regarding resuming talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran responded to the US attacks that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by launching attacks targeting US military bases in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as well as in Israel.

“He is rightfully concerned about more Americans dying,” he said. “It is truly sad that Netanyahu sacrificed American treasure and blood to further his illegitimate expansionist ambitions.”
Meanwhile, Chief of Staff General Dan Caine said that more US soldiers are heading to the Middle East at a time when tensions with Iran are increasing. ,
“I don’t want to talk about the details because that would give the enemy a clue,” Caine told reporters at the Pentagon briefing. “Depending on the time it takes to get it out there, we have more tactical aviation flowing into the theater.”

Caine said the US mission in Iran is to “deny Iran’s ability to project power beyond its borders.”
