Iran chaos exposes Qantas’ poor customer protections

The sudden closure of Middle Eastern airspace and airports following the US-Israeli attack on Iran over the weekend has exposed the fact that Qantas has effectively outsourced much of its international travel to Emirates, the world’s largest airline.

Some of the world’s largest airline hubs have been closed, including Dubai (Emirates), Doha (Qatar) and Abu Dhabi (Etihad). At least 115,000 Australians stranded Tens of thousands of people preparing to travel to Europe, England and Africa, as well as foreign tourists and businessmen returning to their countries, remain largely in limbo.
